I was lucky enough to interview Kobi again today. We are already long ARBE and wanted to learn about progress and the path towards commercialization. Kobi had a lot of important things to say about the timings of new deals and the beginning of production. We also discussed financing for ARBE, and Kobi was keen to stress that he believes they now have enough cash to fund the business until the start of production.
Kobi also gave his views on the industry generally and the use of LiDAR and made some interesting points about the recent Innoviz/MobilEye deal.
You can watch the full video below. I will write a new article in the new year and consider whether we need to take any action then.
Portfolio Performance
I closed QBTS yesterday the 6th trade closed in 2024. The complete list of closed trades is:
The demonstration account close trades ($250 invested each month) now gives the following closed trade results.
We now have a lot of cash in the demonstration account. As a result, I will be adjusting the deal size and may add to some positions in the new year. XS cash is not great; I like to have it working, not sitting, but I would rather it did nothing than lose money, so I will continue to tread carefully.
I will update the new trade size in January when this month is complete, but at the moment, the account has $2300 of cash, which is way too much.
We currently have 15 open positions with 12 in the money and the performance since inception is shown in this chart against my two chosen benchmarks
Some companies that I have recently invested in that may be of interest:
SKYX. smart home light/ceiling fan fixtures. May become a world standard similar to GE Edison screw in bulb.
HGRAF, NNXPF: both graphene producers. Graphene was discovered 20 years ago but its widespread incorporation into the economy is finally starting to occur.
